Butler & Co
Butler & Co merge traditional values, stunning aesthetics and workboat practicality to create a range of vessels that embody the golden age of yachting and perfectly balance form and function. Based on Penpol, Cornwall, they design and build vessels from petit lug-rigged dinghies to ocean-going cruising yachts.
Classic Sailing

Cornish Luggers
The Looe Lugger Regatta is held in Looe once every two years. It’s a lovely little festival usually attracting about 30 classic vessels and based is a spectacular setting.
Cornish Maritime Trust
The aims of the CMT are to help preserve Cornwall's maritime heritage by maintaining and sailing three classic vessels from 17 to 40 foot. The oldest is Barnabas, a lugger built in 1882. Joining the Trust is a cheap fun way of sailing ‘Old Style!
Falmouth Classics
The largest classic boating event in the UK takes place in Falmouth, the world’s third deepest natural harbour. It’s an annual gathering of classic and heritage vessels and combines with the Falmouth International Shanty Festival. Last years event attracted over 200 vessels and 60,000 visitors. It’s great to be apart of this, whether your on the water or land.
FY7 Charter
FY7 Charter is the new venture of Brixham Sea school's directors Steve Styles and Tim Sunderland. ‘Our Daddy’ FY7 offers comfortable sailing trips aboard a 1921 classic Cornish Lugger.
The Mounts Bay Lugger Association
The Mounts Bay Lugger Assiciation is a charity that has lovingly restored an old Cornish lugger the 'Happy Return' back to its former glory. The MBLA has a regular Penzance sailing timetable from March through to October where members of all levels of sailing experience can enjoy sailing in South West England and beyond.
Jumbo Association
The Jumbo Association in St Ives have two modern classics built on old lines by Jonny Nance. The association encourages people of all ages to engage with the sea and each other. Whilst learning seamanship skills and developing self-esteem, St Ives provides a picturesque backdrop. If the adrenalin of racing a Jumbo’s not enough, there are two skulling punts!
The Island Trust
Since 1973, The Island Trust has been transforming young lives by providing confidence-building, traditional adventure sailing. One can also sail Bounty’s End, the replica 23 foot wooden vessel that was used in the Channel 4 series, Mutiny. Conrad Humphrys is keen to create a ‘living history’ legacy project, whereby young people will also have the opportunity to experience some of what it entailed to sail in the footsteps of Captain Bligh.
Working Sail
Working Sail was set up in 1993 with the aim of keeping alive the art and craftmanship of traditional boatbuilding. So far, Luke and a very skilled team have built 8 stunning Scilly Pilot Cutters and are half way through the 68 foot Pellew, a Falmouth Pilot Cutter. The yard is on the banks of the river in Newham, Truro. Luke and Joanna also run highly sought after sailing holidays on ‘Agnes’.
West Country Cutters
Jon Bray and his team construct traditionally planked cruising yachts based on the well-proven, seaworthy designs of late 19th century and early 20th century working boats. ‘Unity’, a transom sterner cutter was launched in 2016 and was a head-turner at festivals in Cornwall and Brittany.
Old Gaffers Association
The OGA (Old Gaffers Association) aims to encourage interest in gaff rig, lug and spritsail rig sailing. It was originally created in the 1960s when some recreational sailors became concerned that traditional sailing boats were disappearing from British shores. It was hoped that holding races specifically for traditional boats would encourage people to own and maintain these boats. They have a large following and have many social and sailing events to enjoy.
Tempes Fete
The Tempes Fete maritime festival in Douarnenez, Brittany should be on everyone’s calendar. It attracts every size of vessel and the energy of the place is non stop, from sunrise till the early hours.
New Dawn Traders
NEW DAWN TRADERS is an experimental business. We trade in wild ideas and delicacies, working with sailing cargo vessels to import produce from across the Atlantic Ocean and along European coastlines pollution-free. Inspired by people, projects and businesses that promote resilience in local food systems, we have designed the Voyage COOP to apply this way of thinking to international trade. Trewarveneth Manor Farm Camping
Trewarveneth Manor Farm Camping is a small dog friendly site near the fishing town of Newlyn, and the quaint villages of Paul & Mousehole. It’s set in a beautiful spot and offers commanding views of Mount’s Bay and the iconic St Michael’s Mount. The stunning countryside surrounding the bay offers a varied landscape of low hills and sandy beaches. Scattered along the bay are the communities of Mousehole, Newlyn, Penzance and Marazion, each offering something a little different. Our rustic pop-up campsite is nestled in unspoilt countryside only 10 minutes from the nearest beach or 20 minutes from the beautiful safe & sandy beach at Marazion. A short stroll down the hill brings you to Mousehole, possibly one of the prettiest fishing villages in Cornwall, if not England, with its quaint cottages surrounding the little enclosed harbour. Wild Cornish camping at its best!
Mousehole Camping
Welcome to Mousehole Camping and Glamping, a small but friendly camp site based at local football club Mousehole AFC, which is situated near the village of Paul, Penzance in beautiful West Cornwall. The site is open for bookings every summer and campsite facilities include toilets, showers and ample free parking. Our fully licenced clubhouse is open on matchdays’ where you can also purchase refreshments and snacks. A communal freezer is available and a mobile-phone charging point. (April-Sept) FREE Wi-Fi throughout the campsite.
